This year has been a whirlwind. Just at the end of April the crew and I traveled to Kansas City to promote our new web productions, Strange Happenings and Barker Hole. We had a decent turn out as well as a fantastic time on our panel talking shop, sharing stories, and answering questions. We showed the trailers for both projects and both were well received.
Planet Comic-Con has allowed us to attend and promote our work the last 3 years and its been a fantastic experience. This year the con was ten times bigger than last year. You actually needed an entire weekend to try and see all the booths, but I still don’t know if that would’ve been long enough. The talent they had at this years event was huge. They had everyone from John Barrowman and Billie Piper to Ric Flair and John DiMaggio. I wanted to meet Mr. Dimaggio but the lines were so much longer than we anticipated last year. As my wife and I looked around we came across the booth for pro wrestling legend, Jerry “The King” Lawler. My wife was like, “Hey, the king is here!” His line wasn’t long so we hoped in and met the man himself. I had watched wrestling religiously as a kid and have kept up with it the past few years. So it was great to meet a legend like him. We talked shop about the attitude era of WWE and wrestling today. Super nice guy.
We hope to return to Planet Comic-Con for many years to come as we grow as filmmakers, creators and entertainers. Its always an experience.
